MI355X vs B200: which one to rent.
Choose the MI355X if
- Your model needs more memory per GPU: one MI355X holds about 220B parameters in FP8, against about 138B on a B200.
- You run FP64 scientific code: 78.6 TFLOPS against 37 on the B200.
- Your software runs on ROCm and you want the lower price: $1,409 per GPU against $3,439 a month.
Choose the B200 if
- Your stack depends on CUDA: custom kernels, TensorRT-LLM or libraries without ROCm builds.
- You train across 8 GPUs: NVLink 5 moves 1.8 TB/s per GPU, against 1.07 TB/s for AMD Infinity Fabric.
- Your models fit in 180 GB per GPU and you want the most mature software support.

MI355X vs B200 FAQ.
More on each GPU: AMD MI355X · NVIDIA B200.
Is the MI355X faster than the B200?
On paper it has about 11% more dense FP8 and 12% more dense FP4 throughput, the same 8 TB/s of memory bandwidth and 1.6× the memory. Actual speed depends on how well your software is optimized for ROCm; we do not publish benchmarks.
Why does the MI355X cost so much less than the B200?
We price both 30% below their own market median, and the markets differ: public MI355X offers start far below B200 on-demand prices, and ROCm software is younger than CUDA. Our MI355X reference is indicative, as no provider published an on-demand price when we checked.
What fits in an 8-GPU server?
2,304 GB on 8× MI355X against 1,440 GB on 8× B200. By our rule of thumb, a 1T-parameter model in FP8 (about 1,200 GB) fits on either; a 671B model in BF16 (about 1,610 GB) fits only on the MI355X server.
